Efamol Efamarine

Helps maintain supple joints and a healthy heart

A combination of Efamol Pure Evening Primrose Oil, Marine Fish Oil and Vitamin E makes this popular formula for maintaining supple joints and a healthy heart quite unique. It provides both omega-3 and omega-6 nutrients in an easy to swallow capsule.

Efamarine has been specially formulated to provide the important Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids in the optimum ratio. Prostaglandins are chemical messengers that play a role in the body’s action against inflammation. As levels of prostaglandin E1 drop, levels of the pro-inflammatory E2 rise. Efamarine’s high levels of GLA mean the body may create more E1, reducing inflammation. The unique balance of fatty acids in Efamarine also help to inhibit the production of cholesterol. Efamarine is a convenient nutritional supplement that can be a useful addition to a healthy balanced diet, helping to safeguard the intake of these important nutrients.

Efamarine is specially formulated to help in three ways;

  • To supply Marine Fish Oils, which are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. These “good fats” play an important role in maintaining a heart health, good circulation and joint mobility, especially as we get older.
  • To supply GLA, which helps in the production of prostaglandin, chemical messengers that help to regulate many of the body’s processes including the manufacture of anti-inflammatory chemicals for joint health.
  • To supply Vitamin E, which has important antioxidant properties and may also help maintain cardiovascular health.

Research on Ingredients

Marine Flsh Oil found in Efamol Efamarine uses carefully refined marine fish oil rich in EPA and DHA to ensure they are of the highest quality and free of potentially harmful contaminants.

Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) is an important Omega-3 nutrient needed by the body for the structure of nerves and cells and is needed for brain and eye health particularly.

Arachidontc Acid (AA) is an important Omega-6 nutrient found in the membranes of nerves and helps with the transmission of messages in the central nervous system.

Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) are the only true EFAs are the head of the Omega-3 and Omega-6 series of fatty acids, namely Alpha-Linolenic Acid and Linoleic Acid. They must be sourced from the diet and can be broken down through complex chemical reactions in the body into LCPUFAs, which the body needs for specific metabolic processes. However, this chemical process is notoriously un-economic and is affected by diet, age, alcohol consumption, intake of saturated fats.

Long Chain Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (LCPUFA) is a general term referring to the good fats, which are predominantly from the Omega-3 and Omega-6 series and include GLA, AA, DHA and EPA. These can be obtained from the diet and are directly used in a number of vital bodily processes.

Is it for me?

Efamarine is specially formulated to maintain mobility and joint health; and maintain healthy cardiovascular health.

Can I take Efamarine alongside my existing medication?

Yes, although we recommend that anyone under medical supervision or taking prescribed medication should consult their health care provider before taking any kind of food supplement.

Will Flaxseed Oil do the same job as Efamarine?

No. Flaxseed Oil only contains ALA, which the body has to convert into LCPUFAs before it can use it. If your body has insufficient LCPUFAs because of a problem with the conversion process, you will not benefit from taking the Flaxseed Oil. Also, Efamarine is a rich source of essential fatty acids from the Omega-6 family, unlike Flaxseed Oil.

How about Cod Liver Oil – is that the same?

No. Cod Liver Oil is a rich source of Vitamins A and D and fatty acids but Cod Liver Oil does not contain GLA which is present in Efamarine.

Are there any side effects?

Minor side effects have occasionally been reported, including gastro-intestinal disturbances like loose stools, nausea and headaches. Such side effects either disappear on their own or respond to a reduced intake of Efamarine.
